The visual concept is simple: Allow the faces, hands, personal photos, and artworks of participating refugees to tell their stories in long close close-ups inspired by Neo-Realist filmmaking, classic war reportage photography.

Disonance between image and voice may sometimes be achieved to interesting effect by showing hearing the stories of refugees set against against still or moving footage of their faces (not speaking). e.g. Pina (Bausch documentary).

Some refugees who are early on in their application process or timid about being videos, may not wish to address the camera. Interesting use of cast shadows borrowed from surrealist photography or choreography of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, etc. or filming through gauze, etc. can be used.
