By E. Ethelbert Miller
Teach me tonight
the history of love.
I am weary.
I am lonesome.
Restore my flesh
with your touch.
Hold my dream
in your hands.
Kiss me deeply as I
learn your tongue.
Lift me up so
I might see myself.
The Importance of Arts, Culture & The Creative Process
Art is celebratory resistance. Our ability to create is a reminder of our humanity and responsibility to encourage and protect beauty in this world. Everyday it is ugliness and darkness we must confront. As artists we are light bearers and keepers of the miraculous flame.
What was the inspiration for your creative work?
My work was inspired by the sensual, the erotic desire.
Tell us something about the natural world that you love and don’t wish to lose. What are your thoughts on the kind of world we are leaving for the next generation?
As seasons change they remind us each year that we are growing older. How we age is how we should love. We love in the present moment. We should acknowledge and embrace the beauty that everywhere surrounds us.
