The Importance of Arts, Culture & The Creative Process

The creative process is important because it allows us to connect to our higher self/intuition; connect to others, express and communicate our internal worlds, as well as help us understand and maneuver through life. The creative process is an amazing teacher full of wisdom and has the ability to reveal things about ourselves. It will both effortlessly carry you along the journey and humble you when it presents you with various mental and artistic challenges. The arts provide many educational opportunities about people and cultures. The arts also offer us ways to connect with others from the past and present and help us to see things or understand things from a different perspective.

Something that stands out about this project is the statement above "inspires imaginative inquiry". Right now with the increase use of AI, this is such an important aspect of the arts and the creative process to communicate to others. Allowing ourselves to use our imagination, create, connect with our intuition provides us with a vast amount of benefits spiritually, mentally, intellectually and physically.

What was the inspiration for your creative work?

In my current paintings I am exploring the energy I feel from things, mostly spiritual energy. How can I visually capture the energy of someone who is no longer in human form? It pushes me to rely on and develop my intuition and clairsentience abilities rather than my analytical self.

Tell us something about the natural world that you love and don’t wish to lose. What are your thoughts on the kind of world we are leaving for the next generation?

I have always been an outdoor person and a nature lover. When I was young, if I wasn't in the house drawing, I was usually outdoors playing or pretending I was on some great adventure while walking through our woods. My family did day trips to the beach, went for hikes, apple picking, sledding, skating etc. These are some of my best memories. It would be so harmful on many levels to loose areas where people can be out in nature, feel her energy and what she gives us. I fortunately live in an area where I am surrounded by nature and farms and hope this is what the next generation will experience. Unfortunately I realize this is not the case for many parts of the world where discarded textiles, plastics and electronics are piled in heaps in areas where people are trying to live. I believe there is a solution - and someone with a brilliant, creative mind will solve this.
