The Importance of Arts, Culture & The Creative Process. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the importance of the arts and humanities and how this project resonates with you. What can anyone say that has not already been said. Inspiration, interrogation, and self-reflection are part of art making, whatever kind one makes and are they not part of the creative process?
What was the inspiration for your creative work? The extraordinary sculpture of the Goddess of Mercy. It is huge. It is old. It is commanding and yet oh so serene.
Tell us something about the natural world that you love and don’t wish to lose. What are your thoughts on the kind of world we are leaving for the next generation? We need air, water, fertile soil, and biodiversity to sustain the planet. We lack political clout or cultural will in this nation even as humans around the globe create ways to sustain water and soil. Capitalism is the menace and corruption is it twins. How the economic structure can be removed or modified so that future generations can breathe air, drink water, farm the soil, find creatures large and small in their habitats is a basic question.
