The Importance of Arts, Culture, The Creative Process, and how this project resonates with you.: “Ya Me Cuido Yo” is a simple yet profound expression of a truth we often forget—that our own needs and desires deserve to be our first priority. Too often, the fear of abandonment or rejection makes us surrender our well-being to the hands of others, as if love must be earned through self-sacrifice. This song is a gentle yet firm reminder that our healing, our safety, and our happiness begin within us.
Art and music have the power to articulate what we feel before we even have the words, offering us a mirror in which we can finally recognize ourselves. When we hear a song that understands us, we begin to understand ourselves. The right melody, the right words—delivered with warmth and compassion—can create a space where growth and healing are not only possible, but inevitable
Tell us something about the natural world that you love and don’t wish to lose. What are your thoughts on the kind of world we are leaving for the next generation?
As a mother, I worry about the difficulties my daughters will encounter to figure out whats real and what is not. What is really important and what is superfluous. The commodities that we take for granted, the objets that get discarded so easily… the real price of our blind ambition will be paid by future generations.
The conveniences we enjoy today are depleting the planet’s resources, and future generations will be the ones to pay the price. We are borrowing from their future, using up time, energy, and materials that cannot be replaced. If we don’t change our mindset now, we will leave behind a world where basic necessities are scarce, and the damage is irreversible.
